Phailin

Well-prepared welcome for “Phailin” / Super cyclone land-“slides” away / Man vs Nature, Score- 50:50.

Cyclone “Phailin” alarmed the government officials of Coastal Andhra and Odisha, as meteorologists predicted “Phailin” to be a super-cyclone. National Disaster management authorities, took precautions earlier, compared to the previous disaster here. Predictions also cautioned the government to evacuate people, before Saturday, which was the predicted day for the cyclone’s landfall. The cyclone reduced its impact, by not hovering near the coastline, but by advancing further. The contingency measures taken, prior to the landfall were successful, but measures aftermath have fallen short, putting poor people’s life into peril.
