Mango being a special fruit of summer season has many variations to build your own favourite                                                        dish in your way. Coming in different varieties and colours, it is a fruit used both in the southern and northern hemispheres. Suiting all the palates of the hemispheres, it has proven to be a universal fruit for sweet and tangy dishes, which are most suitable for both the palates. A clear-cut distinction can be easily made through the way it’s used in the two partitions, and their methodology of using this fruit in different ways.

Talking about the south-Indian ways, it’s a main ingredient for many people in the twin cities of Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu, where most of them use it in pickles. Pickles vary in their taste and several other estimations like sugar, red-chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and many other. Small districts like Kakinada, yanam, Rayalaseema  are few of the examples, where we can find this distinction in their pickle making.

In the case of other varieties, mango is a main source for many sweet dishes like fruit-salad, mango mocktails and liquids, which help us in keeping the body temperatures constant during the scorching summer season. Mango has got many other variations like panna, pachhi-pulusu, theeyapuli and many more, which make our day-to- day cuisine very interesting. In the Northern India, mango-milkshakes are a common companion with various kind of paranthas, which helps in equalising your diet. Mango milkshakes are also a main source of coolants, as they accompanied by basil or coriander leaves, which fulfil this particular property.

In the case of classy dishes, mango is a main ingredient in cakes, fruit-tarts, cupcakes and pies. Television shows like Donna Hay, Rachel Allen: Bake, Nigella Kitchen, Kylie Kwong are few of the  cookery shows, which show the use of this fruit in their dishes. Mango is mainly looked upon as a main ingredient to prevent harmful diseases resulting due to the seasonal changes in some parts of the country. The use of this fruit is a main source to get resistance even in the scorching sun, or in the bad-weather conditions prevailing differently in both the parts of the hemispheres.

Mango in short can be called as “Jack of All Trades” useful in both the parts equally and can      be rated to be the king of fruits inspite of its rare availability in the summer season.
